About us"To know God and to make him known"Welcome! On this page you will get to know us a little better and hear the story of the mission on an international, national, and personal level. - What is Youth With a Mission?
Founded to complete the Great Commission, “Youth with a Mission” (YWAM) is an international and interdenominational organization dedicated to presenting Jesus Christ personally to each individual of this generation, committed to mobilize as many people as possible to aid in this task and to train and equip the believers to do their part in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. From the beginning… From the time that YWAM was founded in 1960 by Loren and Darlene Cunningham, thousands have gotten involved around the World to complete the commandment of Christ: Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16:15). The founder Loren Cunningham had a vision of waves of young people covering the countries and coasts of the world, speaking about Jesus. Coming from this vision today is one of the largest interdenominational and international ministries, with more that 30,000 Christians involved in short term projects, and more that 11,000 full time workers that work in more than 900 missionary communities in about 140 countries. YWAM brings people from diverse backgrounds together to work in a wide range of ministries. What do we have in common? YWAM does not depend on any one specific congregation neither in the orgnizatinal, doctrinal nor financal level, but rather is a non profit organization that works along side of the local church in each place it is established. The participants come from various churches, countries, and backgrounds. But there are some things that unite us as a mission around the world. Let’s Discover Together... Methods of action: Evangelism, Training and Mercy, are the 3 main ways that the Lord has shown us to participate in the task of sharing the Gospel with every person. Nevertheless we always look for the guide of the Holy Spirit to know how to carry out the work in these areas. Fundamental Values: Are the expression of our beliefs, united to the specific directives given by God since the start of YWAM in 1960. The combination of these beliefs and values make up the unique characteristics of the YWAM family—our “DNA”. These are the values that we maintain in high esteem, those which at the same time determine who we are, as we live and as we make decisions. YWAM affirms the Bible as the reliable word of God, and together with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, as a point of reference for each aspect of life and ministry. Based on the Word of God, in who He is, and His initiative of salvation, the following answers are strongly emphasized in YWAM: worship, a life of holiness, testifying, prayer, and fellowship of Christians.

It was the year 1978 and Argentina was elected as the host country for the world cup in soccer. For this occasion not only the fans of the sport and people of different nationalities, cultures and languages arrived to the country, but also young people passionate for Jesus and dedicated to proclaim the message of the cross in the streets of Argentina. For the 80’s, the Lord provided the finances to buy a farm located in Palmira, in hte province of Mendoza, and this was the first base. Following this, the first internal school of YWAM Argentina began, at that time called “The Basic School of Evangelism”. Many evangelistic campaigns from different places within the country and neighboring countries were incorporated in the program. In 1989 the base moved to Buenos Aires (a strategic point for its closeness to the Capital), with a new vision: train Latin Americans for the mission field with the goal of reaching the people groups in the 10/40 window through the Gospel. Since the first School of Missions, God has raised up missionaries in different nations such as Spain, The Amazons, India, Japan, Turkey, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, South Africa, Uzbekistan and others. Today YWAM is extending throughout Argentina, sharing the missionary vision, inspiring and training the Argentine youth to be involved in the work of world evangelization. YWAM collaborates with the local church in diverse programs of training, evangelism, mercy, and the mobilization of youth to short term and long term events. Currently YWAM Argentina has 8 permanent locations within the country: Ituzaingó (Greater Buenos Aires) Caballito (Federal Capital Buenos Aires) Corrientes (Capital City of the province of Corrientes) Puerto Madryn (Province of Chubut) Mendoza (Capital City of the province of Mendoza) Bariloche (Province of Río Negro) Córdoba (Capital of the province of Córdoba) Mar del Plata (Province of Buenos Aires) Ushuaia (Province of Tierra del Fuego) YWAM Córdoba In the middle of 2004 we received a word from God (Ezequiel 37) to open a new pioneer base here in the province of Cordoba. After Consulting with the leadership and receiving their approval, we came to Cordoba in January of 2005 with the first outreach team, working during all of January and February. During this and the following year we developed work with teams from such places as Corrientes, Mendoza, Buenos Aires, Hawaii, México, Colombia y USA. Together with these groups we worked in already established churches with the goal to bless them and create friendships with leaders and pastors introducing the vision of YWAM in Cordoba where it was not well known. After this year and a half of work we began to form the stable team in Cordoba and in July 2007 we had our first Discipleship Training School (DTS). Today we are preparing for new challenges that God wants to give us, challenging youth and sharing God’s dreams for the world. We trust that God is going to raise up a large army from Cordoba to send out to the nations.
